Client Background & Overview
Social Debt is a fintech startup dedicated to preventing small debts from escalating.
Through their smart app, they provide young people with structured financial support to help them repay their debts in a fair way without penalties or hidden fees.
Their mission is to promote healthier financial habits and reduce reliance on high-interest short-term solutions like payday loans, empowering young people to take control of their financial future.
Challenge
Social Debt’s existing app was not functioning effectively. It lacked key features like document uploads and push notifications, which limited its usability.
Additionally, the app was financially unsustainable due to high maintenance costs and a lack of flexibility for future customizations. The organization needed a stable, cost-effective app that could evolve alongside their needs while offering a seamless user experience for young people looking to manage their debt.
Execution
To develop a solution that met the client’s needs, we adopted an iterative development approach, with small but continuous improvements.
Pionect focused on implementing essential features, ensuring seamless payment functionalities, and optimizing the app for stability. We relied on thorough research and testing to refine our approach.
A key technical challenge was integrating Airtable for storing client data, requiring smart resource planning and continuous synchronization to ensure seamless functionality.
Close collaboration with Social Debt ensured that development remained aligned with their changing needs, allowing us to quickly adapt and refine the solution based on real-time feedback.
Result & Future Projects
The newly developed app has significantly improved the client’s ability to assist young people in debt relief.
With 545 total users onboarded so far and a goal of doubling that amount to reach 1,000 users, the app has proven to be both functional and scalable.
Currently, we are continuing to develop additional features and refine the onboarding process to enhance the app’s impact. Moving forward, we are exploring new opportunities for further expanding the project, including improvements to the registration process and broader feature enhancements.
What Makes This Project Special
What makes this project special is its mission-driven focus: helping young people take control of their financial future in a way that feels modern, accessible, and free of unnecessary stigma.
Traditional debt relief services often feel outdated and bureaucratic, but Social Debt reimagines the process through technology that speaks to its users.
We also love how this project challenges us to think beyond just the technical aspects. It’s not just about building an app; it’s about finding innovative ways to connect financial tools with real-life impact.
With new opportunities to integrate directly with banks and financial services, the potential to transform debt assistance for young people is greater than ever.
